The Croatian volleyball player who was born in 1983 in Split, is the daughter of old basketball player and coach, Željko Poljak. She started to play volleyball in Mladost Zagreb when she was 12. She was transferred to the first league when she was 17. Poljak who played in Mladost Zagreb between the years 1995-2000 was transferred to Italy in 2001. She wore the jersey of Minetti Vicenza and Foppapedretti Bergamo, respectively. After eight seasons in Italy, she was transferred to Turk Telekom, Turkey, in 2008 and after that; she played in Vakifbank Gunes Sigorta Turk Telekom. She has been playing for Eczacibasi Sport Club since 2011.Poljak won the European Confederation Cup in 2001 and 2004. She was the winner of European Champions League in 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2015. Furthermore, she was chosen as the best middle-blocker in European Champions League of 2005, 2011, 2015 and Turkey League Championship of 2011. Maja Poljak who has been the player of Croatia National Team since 1999 won the silver medal in European Championship of 1999.
