Overview

Team profile

Mirador will end a four-year absence from the World Club Championship when they line up against host club Volero Zurich on the opening day of the tournament. They received a wild card invitation in March 2015 to enable them to participate. Their previous appearances in the championship were in 2010 and 2011, when they finished fourth on both occasions. In the 2010 competition they lost to Italian side Foppapedretti Bergamo in the bronze medal match, and in 2011 they lost to Sollys Nestle Osasco from Brazil. Domestically they have won the Torneo Superior de Voleibol del Distrito Nacional 23 times.

The Mirador team features three players who helped Dominican Republic to joint-fifth at the 2014 World Championship, the nation's best result in the championship's history. Marianne Fersola Norberto, Yonkaiara Paola Pena Isabel and Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez all participated in both of Dominican Republic's third round games. Now Mirador will be hoping to profit from Martinez's vast experience that contradicts her young age. Despite being only 19 years old, she has appeared in two World Championships, two editions of the World Grand Prix, and featured in Mirador's 2010 and 2011 World Club Championship campaigns.
