Volero Zurich looking at getting it right this third time around.
Zurich, Switzerland, May 9, 2010 - Hosts Volero Zurich are just hours away from a shot at a dream that has eluded them for the past three years. They're making their third attempt at qualifying to a Club World final, when they take on Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul in the opening semifinal of the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.
Both teams have been faltering so far in the competition. Volero dropped a set to underdogs Mirador Santo Domingo and then lost their second match in pool play to Rexona-AdeS Rio de Janeiro.
Eczacibasi were also 1-1 in their pool. The reigning European Champions lost their opening match to Hisamitsu Springs Kobe in five sets and had to come up with a brilliant performance against Dynamo Krasnodar to make it through.
The match begins at 15:30 local time (13:30 GMT) at the Saalsporthalle.
Head-to-head. Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul and Volero Zurich will meet for the first time at the Club World Championship.. This match will also be the first meeting between a Turkish and Swiss side in the competition.

Participating sides from Turkey have always finished on the podium: Fenerbahce in 2010 (gold) and 2012 (bronze) and VakifBank in 2011 (silver) and 2013 (gold).. The Club World Championship has had eight different winners from five different countries. Brazil has won the tournament a record three times. Turkey follow with two wins.
