VIDEO: Volleyball bids farewell to Brazilian legend Fofao

Lausanne, Switzerland, May 12, 2015 – Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul may have taken the glory at the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship in Zurich, but for some the enduring memory of the tournament will be the farewell volleyball gave to Brazilian legend Fofao.

The Best Setter from the 2008 Olympics, where Brazil took the gold medal, was unable to help Rexona-AdeS Rio de Janeiro to the podium after they were shut out in the bronze-medal match 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18) by Voléro Zurich.

Fofao captained her team with her usual dignity and enthusiasm in what was her final appearance at the age of 45 after an amazing career that spanned three decades and five Olympic Games.
